USS Harriet Lane was a paddle steamer of the United States Revenue Cutter Service, launched in 1857. After the outbreak of the Civil War, she was commissioned into the Union Navy. In 1863, she was captured by the Confederates and put into mercantile service. She was recaptured by the Union Navy before the end of the war. Deemed unfit for service, Harriet Lane was sold and renamed Elliot Richie. She served as a merchant cargo ship until she was abandoned at sea after a fire broke out on her in 1881.
